Project Description
In Catania/Sicily, an existing semiconductor fabrication plant of STMicroelectronics is being modified to Italy’s largest photovoltaic panel plant. The thin-film solar cell plant will start operation with an initial annual production capacity of 160MW in 2011 and is scheduled to be expanded to an annual capacity of 480MW in the future. The investing Company is 3Sun S.r.l., a joint venture of Enel Green Power, Sharp Co. and STMicroelectronics.
